Baja California Sur is a desert peninsula in northwest Mexico, with year-round sun and mild winters averaging 70°F (21°C) and summers reaching 95°F (35°C). It's famous for gray whale migrations from December to April-you can watch them from boats in the Sea of Cortez near Loreto or San Ignacio Lagoon. In winter, you can also snorkel with sea lions at Isla Espíritu Santo, while summer's warm water makes it perfect for surfing at Todos Santos or partying in Cabo San Lucas.
